About Me

 Welcome to TravelwithSavi! 

I am excited to share my travels around the world with you. I will share my insights into my favourite places, beaches, eats and sharing the "art of the bartering" the worlds hidden shopping gems! I will give you insight into how I pack for big trips (usually in a carry on only!), how to connect once you are on the ground, and my criteria for planning for the perfect trip! 

My parents are from India and Trinidad, and my sisters and I were raised in Canada. We are all so thankful to have grown up in a multi-cultural community, and celebrate the beauty of that diversity! I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and grew up right next to the Rocky Mountains in Banff and Canmore! While I love travelling and exploring this beautiful Earth, Canada will always be home to me, and I am always so comforted seeing those smiling faces and white cowboy hats upon my return (IYKYK!!)

I have been blessed to see many places across the world, (24 countries and counting!) and I am so thankful for those memories and experiences! Travelling has ignited a true passion for me, and I look forward to discovering so much more of it! I can't wait to get back out there, slow down, and take more time enjoying each country and the culture that they each have to offer. 

I love immersing myself in language, culture and experiences. I love exploring off the beaten path, wandering down cobblestone streets and meeting people wherever I go. I love participating in walking tours in old cities, discovering new beaches each day, and I have a "try everything at least once" policy when it comes to new cuisine! I am also the queen of bartering and I will teach you all of my mad skills, in due time! 

I was inspired to start a travel Instagram page earlier in 2020 to share my adventures in one place, and now I hope to inspire more people to seek new adventures, by sharing my tips, advice and favourites from each of the beautiful places I have visited.
